GOVERNMENT & LEGISLATION
NAA is the only full service national trade association dedicated solely to the apartment industry. The federated structure of NAA enables the industry to represent its members and advocate on federal, state and local policy issues.
NAA's government affairs program brings together three components to benefit apartment industry interests:
State Issues Management Program
NAAPAC, Better Government Fund and political outreach
The National Apartment Association / National Multi Housing Council Joint Legislative program.
NAA Political Action Committee (PAC)
NAAPAC is comprised of interested members who raise money and work to affect favorable change in federal legislation. NAAPAC also supports Congressional members who are sensitive to multifamily housing issues and serve on committees with direct jurisdiction over the apartment industry.
Apartment Industry Mobilization Service (AIMS)
AIMS provides members with regular updates of legislative developments that may affect the multifamily housing industry. Among AIMS publications are the Washington Update, Tax Update, Environmental Update, Property Management Update and Building Codes Update.
Meetings and Expositions
NAA & MAA collaboratively plan and execute several exceptional opportunities for you to network, exchange ideas, and form relationships with other professionals in our industry on a local and national level: the Capitol Conference, the Education Conference & Exposition, the Student Housing Conference & Exposition, the Green Conference & Exposition and the Assembly of Delegates meetings. Each affords you an opportunity to strengthen your connections and make a contribution to our industry by serving on committees and participating in the government process. For local events, please see our EVENTS page.
NAA's Capitol Conference is held in the Spring in Washington, DC. It affords attendees and opportunity to learn more about pertinent legislative issues and lobby their own representatives in Congress.
The NAA Education Conference & Exposition is the largest trade show and conference in the multifamily housing industry. Held annually in June, the Conference attracts large numbers of industry suppliers as well as thousands of multifamily housing professionals seeking educational, business and networking opportunities.
